We have a great little pit stop here as a rest area. We definitely enjoyed the walk around the area. Great memories to purchase in the shop area. Beautiful wood sculptures. Very unique and original. Very friendly. Well recommended 👌 👏 👍 😉
I had a truly delightful experience. From the moment I stepped inside, I was captivated by the charming ambiance and the diverse array of unique gifts on display. The shop's warm and inviting atmosphere made browsing a pleasure, and the knowledgeable staff was more than willing to assist me in finding the perfect item. Whether it was a handcrafted piece of jewelry, a locally made artisanal product, or a whimsical souvenir, the shop had something for everyone. The attention to detail and the thoughtfulness behind the selection of items truly sets Grandfather Tree Gift Shop apart. I left with not only a wonderful purchase but also a smile on my face, eager to return and explore their treasures once again. NO RESTROOM AVAILABLE.
We had to turn around and go back after we drove by and so worth the stop. It’s a great spot for taking pictures and it’s was so amazing to see the Grandfather Tree! Nice gift shop with friendly staff. Well worth a visit!
This is the site of the Grandfather Tree. It is 1800 years old, 265’ tall and 24’ diameter!!! it is free to look at the tree and take photos.
There is also a gift shop has a lot of stuff for you to look at. I liked the wooden carvings.
We decided to stop by and admire the grandfather tree and their wooden carvings. Not too busy and parking was a breeze. As we walked into the gift shop, I was welcomed by a large variety of items that didn't feel customed to their main attraction and moreso towards generic goods (e.g., forest-themed, wooden animals). I wish there were more historical content scattered across the area or gifts related to the grandfather tree.
There is a little of everything here. The best part of this gift shop is outside the building getting to see the 1800 year old Grandfather Tree and all the wonderful carvings. There is plenty of parking here.
We visited the Grandfather Tree Gift shop. First off, it's free to visit unless you buy something. So it's actually pretty nice. Yes there is a great tree for pictures. But the tree is to get you there. This is all about the gift shop. That is what tourists do. Thankfully this gift shop is a lot about wood carving. The items they offer or just have on display are very well done. It's very much worth a stop just to check out the wood carvings. I didn't see a restroom, so there may not be one. But never fear. The one log home is right next door. All you have to do is walk over and buy something. Then you will be a customer and the One Log Home gift shop will provide you with a code to use the restroom.
No, I'm not kidding. But maybe, the Grandfather Tree gift shop has a restroom and I just missed them.
No matter. The Grandfather Tree Gift Shop is a nice place to stop. Most gift shops only carry the same type of things. At least in this one, there is a lot of wood products.
Very nice wood cravings. Very very neat and beautiful work. Happy that we stopped by.
Like wood? This is the place for you. Carvings upon carvings upon carvings. This cool little spot off the 101 in Humboldt County is a quaint place to stop and let your kids ooh and aah over the many, many carvings and also pick up any number of collectible mementos. If Bigfoot is your thing, or your grandma is a collector of bear figurines, I challenge you to find a better spot for this specific gift purchasing. The sales associate was outside on her phone and seemed irritated that we were interrupting her phone call, but to be fair, we probably looked like your average, every day browsing, not buying clientele… because we were. But we also weren’t inclined to part with our money either. We never got a hello, but we never said goodbye either. And personally, I’m not somebody that needs to be approached and asked if they need help with anything every five minutes. This specific point is merely a PSA for anyone that might be offended by such. My kid could’ve cared less as he loved everything about the place, and in the end, that’s all that mattered.
